You know what it is sad? You cannot make tankettes in china.

Like, sure, you can try to make them, but in my case my brain goes "oh no mister Gukpa you need those factories pumping airplanes or Japan gonna nuke your troops from the air".

I've been pondering the Second American Civil War quite recently and was struck by the thought that the various factions involved would almost certainly use the same rank insignia for the duration of this conflict - assuming that the Combined Syndicates deign to employ conventional military organisation at all, which is by no means guaranteed - given that, in most versions of the conflict, this isn't a War of Secession (As per the War between the States) but something more like a succession struggle, with various interested parties fighting to either make themselves the governing Administration or convince all competitors that the Election was valid and that the Boss Man has been President of the United States all along.

Whether the old US rank insignia would continue to be used after the Civil War depends on how that conflict ends, of course.

Of course if the assumption above is correct, then differences between uniform, equipment, flags and other symbols would play an even more vital role in helping soldiers of the various factions avoid shooting down their allies, rather than their enemies: may I please ask if there is any kind of 'Series Bible' giving us an idea of what the diverse factions of the Second American Civil War might be waving, wearing and wielding during that conflict?

What weird developments would Shia Islam take here?

I mean, a Shia founded the Thule Society, a predecessor movement to German facism, in OTL. And Shia governments are associated with imperialism now for different reasons.

I wonder...
