Cecily died simply as that happen sometimes… she is far from being the only one to die without a reason…Why kill her young? Is not like she would succeed to England
1. 1540.
- Which year did Erik VII become King of Denmark?
- How did Charles V become King of Burgundy?
- With their being fewer Protestant monarchies than in OTL, there could be more duchies created through divided inheritance.
perhaps offered to Edward VI?A blessed Easter to all.
Saving the Aviz, Jagiellons and Valois:
François I, King of France (1494-1547) 1m: 1514 Claude de France (1499-1524); 2m: 1526 Eleonore of Austria (1498-1558)
[1m.] Louise (1515-1518)[1m.] Charlotte (1516-1524)[1m.] François II, King of France [from 1547] (b.1518) m: 1535 Isabella of Poland[1] (b.1518)Élisabeth (b.1539)
probably offered for Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy (not sure what was Henri II's reason for being against OTL Claude wedding to Savoy)Claude (b.1541)
will probably marry an archduchess/princess of Lorraine?François, Dauphin de Viennois (b.1543)
maybe offered for Mary, Queen of Scots? If Scotland doesn't want a PU with France, that is. Otherwise someone like one of the d'Este girls or Henriette de la Marck is possibleHenri, Duc d’Anjou (1546-1554)Stillborn Son (1548)Bonne (b.1551)Louis, Duc de Berri (b.1552)[1m.] Henri, Duc d’Orléans (b.1519) m: 1533 Caterina de Medici, Duchess of Urbino (b.1519)Alexandre[2] (b.1537)
marriage to Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy or Francesco I of Tuscany is likely (Caterina might still refuse the match, but if François II says "go" what choice does she have, really?Madeleine (b.1539)
perhaps an Austrian archduchess or a Polish princess (if his dad is successful in claiming the Hungarian throne). Otherwise Maria Anna of Bavaria (who OTL was proposed for Janos II Zapolya)
perhaps part of a double Bavarian match? Or to Lorraine (if her father doesn't claim Hungary)Hedwige (b.1550)
paired in Baden or ClevesAnne Marie (b.1552)
paired in Navarre (assuming marriages there go as OTL)Claude (1554-1559)Sigismond (b.1557)Françoise (b.1559)
matched with D. Carlos?Georges (b.1562)[1m.] Marguerite (b.1523) m: 1544 João III, King of Portugal[5] (1502-1557)Margarida (b.1546)
likely to a Spanish infanta or an Austrian archduchessManuel, Prince of Portugal (b.1548)
maybe a match to Savoy? Depending on who Emanuele Filiberto marriedStillborn Son (1550)Francisca (b.1552)
somebody Italian?João (1553-1554)Claudia (b.1553)
either a daughter of Charles d'Angoulême (if successful in claiming Hungarian throne) or an archduchess seems likelyAffonso (b.1557)Sigismund Franciszek (b.1548)
a son of Charles d'Angoulême (if successful) or an archduke? Like Karl,of Steyr, if the emperor doesn't have a son availableKarol (1550)Jadwiga (b.1551)
maybe somebody in Saxony, Brandenburg or Prussia?Eleonora (b.1553)
@Jan Olbracht could he inherit Bona Sforza's Italian lands or would those have gone to Isabella as dauphine, then passed to her second son? If so, I could see France using it as an excuse to go after Naples (again)Ludwik (b.1555)

- Did Casimir co-ruled Brandenburg alongside his father John VI?
- Are there any intact branches of the Hohenzollerns as of the 17th century?
- How many months did John VIII ruled as Margrave of Brandenburg?
- Did Eberhard I have any children to succeed him as Margrave of Brandenburg-Katzenelnbogen?
- Does Poland have any constituent monarchies as of the 17th century?
likeliest option would either be D. Sebastiao of Portugal or Duarte, duque de Guimaraes (both of whom were considered for Isabel/Catalina OTL). If neither is available (due to being dead) there might be a consideration of a Farnese or Bragança match (as OTL for Catalina) to underscore the claim to Portugal. Alternatively, Ernst of Austria - not Albrecht - was only Isabel's fiancé after Rudolf II said he wouldn't marry anyone. Likely Margarita and Ernie marry earlier here (if a Portuguese match is either unnecessary or unavailable). Which could make things interesting when Rudolf dies with no legitimate kidsI wasn't sure who Margarita would be likely to marry in this scenario. I considered Isabel's OTL husband for her - Albert, Duke of Austria but at the time of Isabel and Catalina's marriages in OTL, their younger brother Felipe was alive and kicking. I wasn't sure how much his early death would change things. Leonor I thought would be able to easily get Catalina's OTL husband - Charles Emmanuel, Duke of Savoy but tell me if that seems unlikely.
Scenario: Catherine I of Navarre marries Juan, Prince of Asturias. Then gets a little hectic.
Catherine I, Queen of Navarre (b.1468: d.1526) m. Juan, Prince of Asturias (b.1478: d.1497) (a), Louis XII, King of France (b.1462: d.1516) (b)
1a) Isabella I, Queen of Castile and Aragon (b.1495)
Margarita would marry Archduke Ernest of Austria as soon Felipe died. As Catholic Kings of the right age are missing Leonor could end as Duchess of Savoy and her other three sisters married to Italian or German rulers… Or Margarita could have been already married to Ernest (with the Netherlands promised to them) with Leonor being the unlucky fiancée of Rudolf (with her eventually marrying either Matthias or Albert with the Netherlands as dowry) and Isabel as Duchess of Savoy and Catalina and Juana elsewhere in Italy or GermanyPOD: All of Felipe II's daughters survive and Don Felipe (OTL Felipe III) dies young

[1] and [2] Please take Margarita and Leonor's names with a grain of salt. I realize it's much more likely that the pair would be named some combination of Isabel, Catalina, Juana, and Maria but I didn't want to have to think up new names for the (now) younger four girls.

I was tempted to have Isabel marry Henri IV as I think it would be funny and I thought the year could work since it's the same year that Isabel married and Henri remarried Maria de Medicis in OTL but Isabel being nine years older than Maria, it's probably more likely that if any of the girls marry him, it's the youngest Maria who would be five years younger than Maria de Medicis at the time.
I'm totally open to suggestions on marriage options for all the unmarried girls and any of Leonor's children if her match seems plausible.
I highly doubt that Margarita would be allowed to inherit the Spanish domains and the Low Countries. I think more likely is one of the twins being Queen of Spain, Naples, Sicily, Sardinia, etc. and one of the twins being Lady of the Netherlands. Also, I personally like the idea of whichever twin inherits Spain marrying https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duarte,_Duke_of_Guimarães_(1541–1576) while the one who inherits the Low Countries marries her cousin Archduke Ernst.POD: All of Felipe II's daughters survive and Don Felipe (OTL Felipe III) dies young

First, I can't see Henry VII even considering remarriage after Elizabeth's death if he has two sons still living from her. Second, Arthur and Katherine of Aragon's daughter is absolutely not going to be marrying Charles V with her Uncle Henry still alive. She will be marrying Henry VIII, or Edmund should something happen to Henry. Third, I would switch the matches of Elizabeth Tudor and Mary Tudor as I'm fairly certain that Charles Orlando and Elizabeth were betrothed even during their brief lives IOTL and Christian II would only be taken into serious consideration after his father's death, by which point Elizabeth is almost certainly already married in France. And finally, Jane Tudor and Anne Tudor would not be sovereign duchesses, but they would inherit any lower titles that their respective fathers held (ie countess of Richmond/countess of Bedford).Henry VII, King of England (b. 1457, d. 1509) m. a) Elizabeth of York (b. 1466, d. 1503) in 1486, b) Joanna of Naples (b. 1478, d. 1518) in 1505

Arthur‘s daughter would be either married to her uncle Henry or sent in a convent as everything else would cause troubles for the Tudors. Henry VII here would have no reason for marrying again (or try to have the last child who killed Elizabeth) with two sons still alive. If she was still born Katherine of England would be the one engaged to Charles V (and Arthur’s daughter would be called either Elizabeth after both her grandmothers or Margaret). Anne Boleyn would NOT receive any title of her own and Jane Seymour would NEVER be seen as good enough for becoming a royal Duchess (Elizabeth Grey, Viscountess Lisle would be a far likelier bride). Edmund of Somerset would marry Madeleine de la Tour d’Auvergne NOT Louise Borgia and I doubt who James V would be able to get a sister of Charles V as bride. Also Elizabeth Tudor would be the one to marry the King of France with her younger sister Mary marrying to Christian II of Denmark or Charles VHenry VII, King of England (b. 1457, d. 1509) m. a) Elizabeth of York (b. 1466, d. 1503) in 1486, b) Joanna of Naples (b. 1478, d. 1518) in 1505
