I see but at the time it will be cancelled as that would have been a monopolistic Attitude and back them the FCC and FTC have real teeth
Then it's worse, you had Blue Lagoon, Silverado, Gandhi, Stand by Me, etc., Oscar winners/contenders and certainly be unwilling to be bought out by Ted Turner, who was seen as a "corporate raider", and for "colorizing films". This was all prior to him being seen as a protector of the environment...
It means that a buyout is less likely, especially when the studios will be able to demand high prices, and Ted Turner doesn't have the leverage or political clout to initiate a high profile corporate hostile takeover until at least 1991, after the Gulf War, when CNN suddenlywas seen as a political powerhouse...

The Walt Disney Company - Currently consists of the Walt Disney Pictures and RKO brands, the DisneyParks, and FX Networks (50%)*.
Paramount Communications - Notably owns the Paramount Pictures/Orion/Miramax film labels, CBS, and USA Networks (50%)
Canal Universal - Notably owns Universal Pictures, StudioCanal, USA Networks (50%), and the Universal Studios chain of resorts.
NBC - Notably owns NBC, Telemundo, kids' channel Qubo, along with Dreamworks SKG.
WarnerMedia - Notably owns Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, and the group of HBO channels.
News Corp - Notably owns Fox Entertainment Group (plus the other 50% of FX Networks), and Sky plc.
Turner - Consists of MGM, Castle Rock, United Artists, and a bunch of cable channels.
*FX Networks is Disney and Fox's answer to USA Networks.
Consider that as a result the WB-TV networks, as well as UPN-TV would probably go on past 2008 in OTL, without the existence of the CW-TV. This also could mean that NBC, still has broadcast rights to the WWE/ WWF.
Consider that Coca-Cola wouldn't be joining the group, mainly because of the "Cola Wars" of the 1980s. Consider that Coca Cola was in a bad place with massive failure of New Coke. This was also the time Pepsi was overwhelming Coke with Michael Jackson as well as Michael Jordan.
