When the League of Nations decided to embargo the Italo-Greek War, they enforced Pre-War Borders, or threatened trade and diplomatic embargoes, both war-torn nations could no longer. Meanwhile the HMS Spearfish is a British submarine lost in the English Channel to a British mine, it accidentally hit. Italian Imperial ambitions are stopped afterwards, as Spanish, French, British and other nearby nation states look to strong, or have a to rough terrain and to few population and resources to justify any new wars, especially as the Italians and Greeks were severely weakened and tired of war by now. In the United States meanwhile Isolationists called for caution to not be dragged into any conflict in Europe, or the rest of the world outside the American colonies ever again, while Interventionists called to support allied like the British. German Nationalists and German Armed Generals sign the plan and directive Achtung Ost (Caution East) a military planning paper for the defense of Germany and Eastern European Nation States against the Soviet Union ambitions against them. In the Aegean Sea an Italian mine sinks the Greek boat Elli, the same week Prince Edward, the Duke of Windsor became the Governor of the Bahamas. In Mexico a Soviet NKVD agent, Ramón Mercader attacks Leon Trotsky with an ice axe in an assassination attempt. In the University of Oxford the effect of penicillin on bacteria is researched. At the coast of the Netherlands, two British Royal Navy destroyers run into a minefield off the coast, loosing 400 men, 300 of them later confirmed death. As a result the minefields layer out during the coming war tensions in Europe are slowly removed once again to make the sea lanes and trade routes secure once more.

In Paraguay president Jose Felix Estigarribia dies in a plane crash, while the Treaty of Craiova sees Bulgaria/ Yugoslavia gain Southern Dobruja from Romania. During the so called Treznea Massacre, Hungarian Army and local Hungarian militia kill 93 ethnic Romanians in a village of Transylvania in an ethnic cleansing campaign. During the German planning of operation Anglo-Saxon a hypothetical invasion of the British Isles during the next conflict is planned. During the Australian Federal Election of 1940 it is the United Australia Party Country Coalition Government that manages to re-elect Robert Menzies and very closely defeat the Labor Party under John Curtin. In French Indochina, the various Chinese Factions, as well as the Japanese back the buildup of the Viet Minh (National Independence Coalition) and the Viet Cong (National Liberation Front) who would fight in Tonking with 25,000 forces soon, 6,000 of those being foreign auxiliary and volunteers which would fight the French Colonial administration and troops. They are led by Chinese and Japanese officers as commanders of their anti-French, anti-Colonial guerrilla war in Tonking. A) Secure the Romanians however possible.
B) Back the Hungarians and deport the Romanians from the Area.

A) I see this as only the beginning. I believe a Hungarian-Romanian War will break out unless the League of Nations sends in Peacekeepers to stem any further bloodshed. From there it’s up to Budapest as to how things will go.
A) When Hungary took control of the area it should come with the understanding they will respect the present population, and if anything are forfeiting their mandate with their actions, thus I also throw my support behind @Alpha-King98760
To further my point, the Hungarians have already committed ethnic cleansing. Why would they stop there? What reason would they have? Sanctions? If the Hungarians, in particular the leadership, are hellbent on taking Transylvania and ethnically cleansing that region of Romanians then only swift armed action will work.
